HOW TO IDENTIFY TRUSTWORTHY NEWS

Today we are sharing a fantastic resource for you and your students, equipping them with the tools to easily identify untrustworthy news. The Economist Educational Foundation and their invaluable project The Burnet News Club encourage young people to have critical, thoughtful and important conversations about what they see and hear on the news, both in the classroom, but also at home. Based on the eight Trust Indicators from The Trust Project, this resource maps eight clear steps a reader can take to critically analyse the news they are consuming.

In a world where misinformation, particularly online, is rife, we thank the Economist Educational Foundation for producing such a helpful and accessible document.

We hope that you found this resource useful - Please stay tuned on our social media for more recommendations every week!
