London Mayor Sadiq Khan backs Stand Up!

[March, 2022]

Stand Up! are proud to be a part of the London Mayor’s motion against antisemitism. The project receives support from the London Mayor’s Shared Endeavour Fund which tackles hate, intolerance and extremism. CST reports that antisemitic hate crimes rose to 2,255 antisemitic incidents in the UK in 2021. This was the highest total ever reported to CST in a single calendar year and was an increase of 34% from 2020. During the same period, TellMAMA also stated an increase in anti-Muslim hate incidents. Stand Up!’s work continues to be vital at this time and it has already reached over 46,000 young people in six years, the majority of whom are in London. We continue to support our young people to stand up against antisemitism, anti-Muslim hate and all discrimination. As London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, writes:

...by standing together and resisting those who seek to sow the seeds of division, I truly believe we can drive antisemitism out of our city, and that Londoners can look forward to a future where the forces of hate and prejudice are in retreat and the values of hope, peace and unity are in the ascendancy.
